Effective Meetings

Effective meetings

Why effective meetings?!

Being a follower of time management, the one thing that ruffles up annoyance is an unproductive long meeting!

My experiences say, 8/10 is like talking about your exact situation. Coincidental?! No.. They are just out there to make the worst of time management. So, here is my bucket list:-

1. Participants arriving late: 5 - 10 mins acceptable; 15 mins okay - fine (acceptable under circumstances); beyond - please stop wasting everyone's time, Mr. Self Centered / Ms. Self Indulgent - (anyone, regardless of the level of management).

2. Never on time: special credits to Mr. & Ms.
For those present in the meeting, it would be the best to please begin the session.

3. Irrelevant topics: This has been one among my top reasons to hate meetings. Please stick to the topic and agenda. If it is not in the agenda, please do not bring it up or else have a one to one meeting with the respective manager.

4. Disagreements: Please do not transform the meeting room to a war zone. I do understand the battle of nerves will not end anytime soon or sooner. But please, save us the unproductive session that is woven with personal disputes.

5. Take meetings light: I have noticed that by the end of Meeting 1, one is energized to do something outstanding or be Jack (or Jill) of all trades. The vigor dies by the time Meeting 2 is called and matters are taken light or even forgotten about by Meeting 3.

6. Unprepared: I personally feel lost without being prepared ahead of time. Being prepared for the meet, getting all my documents, input and output ready enables me to focus even better during the meet.

This is a downloaded image from the internet which sums up what I think would be ideal to run an effective meeting.
